After packing up camp and saying our goodbyes to a few we met, we headed for Pomonal, still in the Ararat area. There is remnants of a settlement from the early days and a tunnel through the hills to Bellfield.
When we got there the the tunnel was closed, much to Chris’s disappointment.! I heaved a sigh of relief, as I didn’t have to confess, that there was no way I was going into that slimy black hole, let alone do 2 kms of it. I took a couple of pics and and we headed for Stawell.
